Lao Cai tour

After breakfast, we leave Bac Ha for Can Cau market.  Can Cau is a busy market which is held every Saturday. Located next to the Chinese border, it is a colourful, vibrant market where you will encounter ethnic minority people such as the Flower Hmong (Red Hmong), Nung, Phu La and even Chinese people from across the border. All kinds of goods are traded here, from fabric to various types of livestock to the strong local corn wine.

10:00 Our road journey continues toward Ha Giang province through Lien village, featuring beautiful scenery with terrace fields.

You will meet your host at Nam Hong village late afternoon.

Around 9:00 saying farewell to the host, we set off day long trek after meeting our local tour guide (porter). Enjoying your walk through rice fields in terraces, you will also have chance of observing daily life of local hill tribes like Tay, Red Dao, Yaos with long tunic.

You leave with your local guide at 9am to explore the nearby mountains through tropical forests and rice terraces.

You stop in a village of the Red Dao for lunch. By necessity, they have sculpted the mountain and its rivers to grow rice, the main food of their meal. These painful adjustments enable them to live in the heights and, by the way, offer you unique landscapes to contemplate. The cooler climate and fresh water in abundance also contribute to the growth of lush tea trees.

You keep walking in the afternoon through manioc fields, bamboo forests, tea plantations, then a village of Yao with Long tunic and finally Pan Hou.

8:00 we do 2hours trek to a nearby village of Red Dao before being picked up by our car and driver for drive back to Hanoi. You have lunch on route. Arrive in Hanoi late afternoon.
