Ban Gioc tour - 6 days

After breakfast served by the host, get transferred to a traditional tile factory nearby. Everything is by hand and the factory is also the main one which is providing the tiles for most of the stilt houses in region. Thence, drive up the road to a small valley where you will embark on a trekking tour. The trek starts easily on a little concrete path which leads you through a peaceful stilt house village and green farms. After a while, you will reach the end of the valley and start hiking uphill into the forest. The scenery is stunning from the top of the trek, have a short break for taking photographs and admire the landscape. Say good-bye to the first valley and hello to the second valley which is a bit bigger. The downhill trek in reasonable following the buffalo path.

Get back on the bottom of the valley and gently walk back to the family for refreshing and lunch. 

This afternoon, depart to Cao Bang city. Stay overnight in the city.

Head to Quang Uyen, upon arrival. Meet up with Nung ethnic group, visiting basket handicraft village before trekking to Lam Ngoi village.  
After lunch break, trek to blacksmith village of Pac Rang where the locals make knives. Stay at homestay for night.

Set out road journey to the border line to visit Ban Gioc Waterfall - The most beautiful falls of the country which is located right on the border line between Vietnam and China. You are able to take a raft ride on the river so that you can enjoy the falls at best. Here you also have chance of visiting Truc Lam pagoda. After Ban Gioc, your guide will walk you through a long cave of Nguom Ngao. This cave runs through a limestone mountain. It is long and beautifully decorated with so many stalactites and stalagmites. Drive straight to Ba Be national park.

Explore the diverse and beautiful landscapes of Ba Be as you trek through the national park. Start from Coc Toc Village where the Tay people make a living through fishing in the lake. Then cross Pelu Stream and navigate some steep terrain, but as you gain height you will begin to see the beautiful views of the mountains. As you journey further towards the uplands, you will stop in a H'mong ethnic village where you will have a picnic lunch. The guide will then take you through the vast mountain ranges and valleys to see the stilt houses and school of the Dzao people and along the trail to visit another H'mong ethnic village. You will then return to your homestay where you started this morning.

Hop on a boat trip. As the boat navigate on Ba Be Lake, you can take in the scenery of the surrounding karsts decorated with patches of wild vegetation and inhabited by all sorts of interesting creatures. The boat ride along the Nang River, with time to explore the stunning Ba Be Lake, the caves of Puong Grotto where you can explore the stalactites and stalagmites which are a result of the erosion of the river on the karst as well as looking out for the bat colony several thousand strong. 

This afternoon, saying good bye to Ba Be, hit the road back to Hanoi.
