Cai Be floating market

This morning, we depart for Cai Be on 2hours road journey to watery Mekong delta – huge rice bowl of Vietnam.

Upon arrival in Cai Be, set off by your private motor boat to visit the Cai Be floating market and watch the locals trading the local products including fruits, rice, and many other commodities on board their vessels. We then visit a family business where you can learn how coconut candy and crispy rice popcorn are made. Meandering into the small villages to visit the orchard and fruit plantation, accompanied by Southern folk music.

The boat takes you to Tan Phong island for a biking or walking on village paths to see the local farms, houses, real life and have an opportunity to see farmers picking up their fruits on the ancestral ways. We also have change of seeing how the locals make rice-net for spring-rolls, sew coconut-leaves for cottage roof and specially see how they wave the dried water-hyacynth to make many products: baskets, bags, hats, wallets, shoes...

Late lunch at a family restaurant with local specialty.

This afternoon, we cross the upper branch of Mekong rive to Vinh Long town to conclude our boat excursion.  Your driver is ready to travel back to Ho Chi Minh city.
