What about food and drink?

Cuisine of Vietnam is diverse and tasty and one of the many highlights of a visit to the country. Most food presented is well cooked, however some optional dishes may be served cold. Lunch should cost around 8-15 USD and dinner approximately 15-25 USD, depending on the restaurant and city. The country’s most popular dishes include:
- Pho: the country’s world famous dish is eaten frequently by majority of city people. This noodle soup, usually features clear noodles in a broth with beef or chicken, some vegetables and herbs. The dish costs around US$ 2.00.
- Bun Cha: charred pork served with fresh rice noodle).
- Banh Mi (Vietnamese Sandwich): crusty bread, stuff it with meat, coriander, daikon or green papaya and pickled condiments.
- Nem (or Cha Gio): Mixture of minced fatty pork, egg, shredded carrot, sliced onion, bean sprouts, vermicelli wrapped by rice paper. You should not miss this flavorful dish though ingredients vary a lot among different parts of the country.
- Banh xeo: delicious crepe-like savoury pancake is filled with shrimp, fatty pork, bean sprouts and green onions, and is served with lettuce, mints.

• Drinking tap water isn't recommended in Vietnam. We recommend you buy bottled waters.

• You also avoid using ice in drinks at most of local coffee shops and restaurants.
